build plants to turn palm oil
into biodiesel. But with
falling oil prices and
changing opinions towards
biofuel many of those
projects were put on hold.
To adapt, biofuel producers
now have to be a little more
creative.

While global biodiesel production is booming, Europe remains the producer of Biodiesel, since its commercial production in year 1991.

As from the year 1993, the European production level of biodiesel increased by more than 25 times, from 80,000 tonnes in 1993 to 2,000,000 tonnes in 2004. Among the EU nations, Germany is the leading producer (50%), followed by France (25%) and Italy (19%). |
