This is a video report about
World Business: A couple of
years ago, with surging
demand for biofuel from
Europe and riding crude oil
prices, investors rushed to
build plants to turn palm oil
into biodiesel. But with
falling oil prices and
changing opinions towards
biofuel many of those
projects were put on hold.
To adapt, biofuel producers
now have to be a little more
creative.

Advantages of CaroDiesel™
|
1) |
Lower overall greenhouse gas emissions
CaroDiesel™ has very low life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions, as most of the carbon emitted upon combustion has previously been taken from the atmosphere in the first place. Burning this biodiesel just returns it to the atmosphere, ready to be absorbed by plants. This way, very little "new" carbon dioxide is created and it is mostly circulated between plant matter and the atmosphere.
|
|
2) |
Improving tailpipe emissions (local air quality)
At 100% concentration, CaroDiesel™ can produce virtually zero tailpipe emissions of sulphur oxides and drastically lower levels of particulates and hydrocarbons than does petroleum diesel, significantly reducing public health risks in areas where it is used in vehicles.
|
|
3) |
It is considered readily biodegradable and non-toxic
Continued testing indicates that CaroDiesel™ degrades as fast as and is as safe as sugar in the environment and when blended with petrol diesel accelerates the diesel's degradation in the environment.
|
|
4) |
Public Health
The emissions smell better and appear to help reduce nausea in those breathing the fumes. CaroDiesel™ and biodiesel/petrodiesel fuel blends smell better than conventional diesel. A value to those who work in close proximity to the fuel.
|
|
5) |
The Kyoto Protocol, 1997
Specifies that signatory countries commit to reduce their collective emissions of greenhouse gases (eg. CO and CO ) by an average of 6% by 2012. CaroDiesel™ allows countries to achieve this inexpensively via the use of biodiesel – a renewable energy. Hence, reduces the need to purchase "carbon credit" from the market place via the promotion and usage of biodiesel. This would encourage compliance with a cost-effective emission reduction strategy.
|
|
6) |
Reduce Dependence of Imported Mineral Diesel
CaroDiesel™ helps reduce the dependence on imported mineral diesel.
